The Pygmy Chain Sword is a fast growing plant which spreads quickly, sending runners.  Once established, it creates a beautiful lawn like effect so is shown to best advantage in the foreground of an aquarium.  Its slim, pointed leaves will reach 7 – 10cm.

Description

This is the smallest of the Chain Sword varieties, and a very attractive aquarium plant. .

Fast growing, it sends out runners and spreads quickly. Eventually it will create a beautiful lawn-like effect.

The Pygmy Chain Sword has delicate roots so, in order to protect them, it is best planted in fine gravel or sand.

Pay particular attention to the lighting in your tank, as this plant will die very quickly if it is not provided with enough light.

It should ideally be kept at a temperature of between 22°C – 26°C, but will tolerate temperatures of up to 28°C.
